Councilor wants Pandaras school transferred
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – City Councilor Noel Tulabut on Wednesday disclosed of his plans to file a resolution seeking for the transfer of the Pandaras Elementary School in Barangay Pandaras, following what he said was harmful effects of power lines surrounding the school.
Tulabut, who chairs the City Council’s committee on education, told Sun.Star Pampanga that the school is directly under lines and posts of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines or NGCP.
“We have findings that the NGCP lines are causing static that may be harmful to the students and young children. That is why we are proposing to have it transferred to safer ground,” he said.
Tulabut added that the move will start with the purchase of a lot for the future site of Pandaras Elementary School.
“It is the core of the resolution that I have motioned to be included in next week’s 8th regular session, so it can also be included in the Annual Investment Plan. We are set, too, to conduct meetings with officials of the Department of Education, NGCP and other stakeholders.”
He also revealed plans to construct sanitary wash areas in the city’s public elementary schools.
“We are tapping donors and foundations in this public-private partnership. It is of great importance that our children in the city’s public elementary schools get clean water and sanitary wash areas for health and safety reasons,” Tulabut said.
