‘Ayala development catalyst for economic growth’

THE development of the 7.7-hectare Capitol property by Ayala Land will serve as catalyst for other developments in the area that will promote economic activities, provide employment opportunities for Negrenses and help generate revenues for countryside development.
This is the content of the resolution of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Negros Occidental chapter, where they manifested full support to the Provincial Government led by Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. regarding the sale and lease of the Provincial Government properties consisting of 7.7068 hectares to Ayala Land.
The resolution, which was unanimously approved by the IBP-Negros chapter in a recent meeting at Business Inn, was the most recent manifestation of support expressed for the Provincial Government under Marañon.
It stated that by virtue of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution Nos. 0653 series of 201, the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental approved the awarding by negotiated sale and lease to Ayala Land involving 7.7068 hectares of Provincial Government property which they deem to be advantageous and beneficial to the government and the general public.
Aside from IBP, various sectors have expressed support to the Provincial Government and Marañon as far as the development of the said property by Ayala Land is concerned.
Expression of support came from the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), as well as other business groups, the league of kagawads in Talisay City and the league of barangay captains of Murcia town.
The farmers and fisher folk groups in the province and Capitol employees also manifested their support for the project.
Other sectors and public officials have also expressed their support for the project.
MBCCI vice president Jose Maria Zayco earlier said the prolonged legal battle brought about by the case filed by SM Prime Holdings Inc. against the Provincial Government after it failed to get the award for the property has deprived the Negrenses and Bacolodnons of a lot of opportunities that the development of the said property will open.
He said Negrenses and Bacolodnons are looking forward to job opportunities that will be available with the P6-billion investment by Ayala Land.
