PORAC — The family of the late second district Board Member Edna David thanked Saturday friends and ordinary people for the love and concern they have shown during the recent wake of their mother.
Vice Mayor Dexter David told Sun.Star Pampanga that they are grateful for the show of support that ordinary people have accorded their mother.
It could be remembered that the late board member died last week after a three-year long battle with lung cancer.
Hundreds of people, government officials and cause oriented groups visited her wake at the St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish here. A necrological service at the Capitol was also attended by provincial leaders who honored the late official’s legacy in public service.
“We are very honored by the number of people who went out of their way to condole us on our hour of grief. We are forever grateful,” David said, adding that other government officials also went out of their way to join the family during the days of the wake.
David said they are also thanking second district Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who cancelled her appointments to attend the interment and deliver a touching speech in honor of the late board member who had been an ardent supporter of the former president’s programs in Pampanga.
David said they are also grateful to their mother’s fellow board members and friends in the Teatro Ima at Arti, Lion’s Club, Quota International Pampanga, and Rotary Club Central Pampanga for the touching presentations and eulogies in honor of the late official.
