Pampanga’s most wanted man nabbed
CANDABA — The third most wanted person in the province of Pampanga was arrested in Barangay Buas this town on Wednesday.
Police Superintendent Wilson Santos, town chief of police, identified the suspect as Bernardo Manarang Quinto, 51, a resident of Barangay Pansinao, this town.
Santos said Quinto was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Adelaida Ala-Medina, presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 45, City of San Fernando.
Upon receipt of the arrest order, the police launched a manhunt that resulted in the arrest of Quinto, who ranked third in the most wanted list of the Philippine National Police in the province.
Prior to the suspect’s arrest, information was received by the police saying Quinto was sighted in his residence in the barangay.
Warrant and intelligence personnel led by SPO4 Mario Mamawan, with SPO2 Loreto Alonzo and PO2 Rommel Relos Santos, then proceeded to the area and checked the veracity of the information.
The team saw the suspect entering his house, where police collared him after having been told of his constitutional rights.
The police learned that the suspect allegedly made his own daughter his own sex slave since she was in grade 4. The last incident of incest rape was reportedly committed between midnight and 1 a.m. of March 17 this year.
The suspect is now detained at the municipal jail pending the filing of appropriate charges against him. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
