Clark Wine Center is pleased to relay interesting news and articles about wine to you on this web site. We hope that this will enhance your wine shopping experience when you visit this wine shop in Pampanga Clark Freeport Zone.
Sales of French wine to Hong Kong have gone up in value by 108%, with turnover increasing from 99.3 million dollars to over 206.2 million dollars between 2007 and 2008. The increase in volume has been much more moderate but remains impressive: up 28% to more than 83 000 hl, or an average price per bottle of $18.60. This figure is high and indicates the peculiar status of Hong Kong, a hub of the wine trade for the Asian wine markets and particularly mainland China, where a high proportion of wine trade involves Grand Crus wine from Bordeaux, Bourgogne and Champagne.
France’s wine progression has left its competitors far behind : France is the leading wine supplier to Hong Kong, followed by Australia (32 million dollars and 57 000 hl or $4.26 a bottle in 2008, after an increase of 28% in value and 17% in volume) which indicates a market on a completely different scale.
