Lozano calls on son’s murderers to surrender

STA. RITA — Lawyer Oliver Lozano has called on the suspects in the murder of his son to surrender, as he reveled Tuesday that a witness has come out to testify on the said case.

Lozano, in an interview with mediamen at the St. Peter Crematorium in Quezon City, said the witness is now working closely with the police.
The witness, he said, is credible and her/his statements can help solve the killing of his son Emerson.

It could be recalled that the younger Lozano had been reported missing since January 12. Lozano, 44, was later found dead in Barangay Mancatian in Porac town. His remains had been burnt, forcing operatives to compare the teeth with Lozano’s dental records which later matched.

Emerson’s driver, Ernani Sansil, was also found dead in Tarlac last Saturday. The two were last seen at a gasoline station in Balara, Quezon City. The younger Lozano was to meet with a potential buyer of his car on the eve of January 12 before being reported missing.

The elder Lozano said he still believes that his son is still a victim of mistaken identity. He even offered the suspects that he would ensure their rights would be observed in case they surrender.

“I am urging these people to surrender so that it would not drag into a more horrible ending,” Lozano said in vernacular. The elder Lozano appealed to authorities for the immediate arrest of the suspects.

He also thanked the people who have expressed their sympathies to their families as well as to former-Senator Imelda Marcos and President Aquino for the support.

The said case is now under close watch as President Benigno Aquino ordered Central Luzon police chief Allan Purisima to “prioritize” the said case. Police investigators here have now formed an investigating team to look into different angles in the said case. (By Ian Ocampo Flora)
