City to implement one-way traffic scheme

ANGELES CITY — The City Government is set to implement a one-way traffic scheme in selected streets at busy commercial districts here.
The move is aimed at easing the worsening traffic condition in the city, said Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.
The new traffic schemes will be implemented along the streets in Pulung Maragul to Balibago and at the city proper, the areas sighted to have the most critical traffic situation.
“We need to contain the volume of vehicles plying our major thoroughfares and to achieve this, we will implement immediate doable action that would help us solve the city’s traffic problem,” the mayor said.
The new traffic plan in Balibago was recommended by its village chief Rodelio Mamac.
The route in Balibago to Pulung Maragul, Aniceto-Gueco Avenue will be one way from Hadrian Street going out to the MacArthur Highway.
All vehicles from Dau or Clark will enter Victor Street, the street after the Total Gas Station, will turn left to Batangas Street, go straight through Lizares Street, take a short left turn on Melba Street, go left to Yambao Street, then take a right to get to Hadrian Street and exit to Aniceto-Gueco Avenue.
All vehicles from the Abacan Bridge will have to make a right turn on Charlotte Street at the corner of the 7-11 Convenience Store, taking a left turn on Bern Street then a right turn to Vincent Street.
Following the route and taking a right turn at Debra Street will lead to Marlim Boulevard Extension going to Aniceto-Gueco Avenue.
All streets leading to Aniceto-Gueco Avenue will follow the one-way scheme to MacArthur Highway.
At the city proper, Miranda Street from Central Bank will remain one-way going to the San Nicolas Public Market.
Plaridel Street will be one way, as well as Jesus and Kuliat Streets going to Sto. Entierro. From Sto. Entierro Street, Burgos Street will be one-way going to Plaridel Street.
The tentative date of implementation of the traffic re-routing is on March 1.
Pamintuan said the City Government will inform the public more about the traffic through traffic advisories and re-routing guides on strategic and affected areas.
Traffic along the streets in Balibago is caused by the flow of vehicles from Dau, Clark, the North Luzon Expressway, and the people going to and coming from the Angeles City Hall.
