University institute stages Chinese road show

ANGELES CITY — The Confucius Institute at the Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF) is staging a series of road shows in celebration of its first-year anniversary, according to AUF president and CI-AUF chairman Atty. Joseph Emmanuel L. Angeles.
CI-AUF, in partnership with the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Beijing) and the Fujian Normal University (Fujian Province, PR China), will stage “Jasmine Brings Spring to the Philippines: A Cultural Presentation” at the University of the Philippines (UP) February 11, University of Santo Tomas (UST) on February 12, Bulacan State University (BSU) on February 14 and Ateneo de Manila University (AMU) on February 15.
The FNU Art Ensemble and AUF Performing Arts will present well-loved Chinese classics both in song and dance. At UP, they will be joined by the UP Tugma, while at UST, they will be performing with the acclaimed UST Singers and UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe.
“As we celebrate the first anniversary of CI-AUF, we wish to express our profound appreciation for the support provided by HANBAN and the Confucius Institute Headquarters, Fujian Normal University (FNU), the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Philippines, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Education, and all our generous partners. Our success is founded on your encouragement and cooperation,” says Angeles.
The road show will culminate with a grand performance during the first anniversary celebration of CI-AUF on February 16 to be held at the Grand Ballroom of Holiday Inn Resort, Clark Freeport.
