CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A street vendor from Lubao who has polio recently received livelihood assistance from the Labor agency and the local government unit via the Nego Kart project.
Rancy Diwa Malit, 45, a native of Barangay Sta. Cruz in the said town, is one among the number of recipients of the Negosyo sa Kariton (Nego Kart) project of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in Central Luzon.
Through the P15,000 cash assistance from Dole, Malit’s store cart has been customized to better suit his capabilities.
Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab has also extended Malit financial assistance and three months worth of security benefits like the Social Security System and PhilHealth.

Before the government’s intervention, Malit said he usually earns around P2,000 a month from selling various snacks.
Now, he said he gets to take home P350 per day or around P8,000 a month, which is equivalent to the salary of minimum wage earners in the region.
