Medical City to spur growth of Clark

Thursday, December 9, 2010

MABALACAT — Mayor Marino Morales is confident The Medical City Clark (TMCC) to be constructed in the Freeport will generate a lot of employment for his people and economic activities for the town.

Morales described the establishment of a world-class hospital in Clark Freeport as a “significant development” in his town.

“Itong medical city ay napaka-significant na development and this will certainly spur the growth of the Freeport,” Morales said.

TMCC will be established at the Global Gateway Logistics City (GGLC), a state-of-the-art master plan that mixes the use of logistics and a business center in this Freeport.

The world-class hospital will be built under the supervision of The Medical City (TMC) administration based in Manila.

The TMC is a 43-year-old tertiary health care organization that seeks to establish a world-class health care complex. Its network is currently composed of two hospitals and 18 outpatient clinics located across Metro Manila and in some provinces.

The TMC Clark will be a 150-bed hospital with a 1,500 medical staff to be complemented by a 2,700-member workforce.

The hospital is expected to be fully operational by 2013.

On Tuesday, President Benigno Aquino III led the ground-breaking rites at the hospital’s construction site.

The president said the establishment of TMCC will allow Pampangeños and those from Central Luzon easier access to the excellent medical care which TMC is known for. (Charlene Cayabyab)
