PamCham lauds Sun.Star Pampanga, partners in business development

MEXICO — The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PamCham) on Monday lauded Sun.Star Pampanga (SSP) and other civic partners for their support to business development in the province and business sector.

PamCham president Rene Romero awarded plaques of recognition to Sun.Star Pampanga and its sister company CLTV 36 for continuously doing its part in media and business community during the group’s Christmas Party at the Lakeshore.

Romero said the presence of Sun.Star Pampanga and CLTV 36 ensures well-covered issues in the community and the business sector.

Sun.Star Pampanga general manager Narciso Sula Jr. accepted the award on behalf of the newspaper.

“Sun.Star Pampanga and CLTV 36 have been fair in their coverage on the issues of the business sector. Their presence is an indication that business development in the province is alive and well. They are the guarding not just the concerns of the business community but also of other sectors that are affected by development issues,” Romero said.

Romero said that the business community realizes the importance of credible and accountable media reporting. He said that PamCham has seen such credibility in the two media outfits.

Also awarded in the said event was GNN/Infomax TV.

Other awardees include the Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Trade and Industry-Pampanga, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and Department of Trade and Industry in, among others.

Romero, who was accompanied by PamCham Chairman Emeritus Liberato Laus and incoming president Jim Jimenez, also lauded other civic partners who contributed to the success of PamCham’s development programs.

Laus, for his part, said that the business community needs the help of various sectors to realize its advocacies for the community. He said that PamCham will always be the bridge that brings government, business and private sector together to work on common areas of cooperation. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
