Resource center joins Rotary Club for livelihood project
ANGELES CITY — Technology Resource Center (TRC) director general Dennis Cunanan has partnered with the Rotary Club of Balibago for the establishment of a furniture making project that will benefit local residents.
Rotary Club of Balibago president Roger Santos bared this during Wednesday’s joint meeting with other Rotary clubs at Graceland Restaurant here.
Cunanan, who was guest speaker during the event, promised to purchase all the machineries required for the livelihood project that would be handled by the group’s Rotary Community Corps (RCC), said Santos.
The RCC is a group of people from a community whose members are not part of a Rotary club but share Rotary’s values and commitment to service. Most members usually come from a community were a Rotary Club operates.
Santos said Cunanan also gave the club a warehouse and Kabuhayan Center in Mabalacat town for the implementation of the project.
This development, he added, would benefit local residents who would like to learn the skills and technology in furniture making through the TRC.
TRC provides technology and livelihood opportunities to sustain and improve the lives of the Filipinos.
“We would like to see indigents participating in the program. We want to give them the skills so that they could make a living for their own for their families and become productive members of the community,” Santos said.
He added that the Rotary Club of Balibago is grateful for the commitments of Cunanan and the up-coming support of the TRC.
