Security guard nabbed for yielding gun

SAN SIMON — Police operatives here arrested recently a security guard for alleged illegal possession of firearm during a checkpoint conducted at the Caltex Junction along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Sta. Monica here.
Elements of the San Simon Police Station led by Chief Inspector Paul I Gamido arrested one Gilbert Raagas, 35, of 933 St. Jude St., Malinta in Valenzuela City, and head guard of Variance Security Agency Corporation.
Investigation conducted showed the suspect, who was on board a red motorcycle, was flagged down by personnel conducting checkpoint.
The suspect submitted himself for plain view inspection, and admitted to carrying a firearm inside his backpack.
Confiscated from the suspect was one Armscor caliber 9mm pistol with serial no. 1153164, along with seven live ammunition.
Said firearm was licensed under the Variance Security Agency Corporation (as per Xerox document presented by the suspect) located at Violeta Complex I, A, Felix Ave. corner London St, Cypress Village, Cainta Rizal – 1900.
The suspect is now under the custody of San Simon MPS for further investigation.
