Sta. Rita lass wins ‘Mutya’ crown

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A lovely teenager from the town of Sta. Rita, famous for its duman and pastries, is this year’s “Mutya ning Kapampangan.”

Ritz Alzul, who was also chosen “Darling of the Press” by local media, bested other representatives from the province’s 20 towns and two cities in the grandest pageant the Capitol held as part of its 439th Pampanga Day celebrations at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, Saturday.

Alzul’s entourage is composed of Bacolor’s Mara Dawn Gopez (1st runner up); Mabalacat’s Maolin Yalung (2nd runner-up); Sto. Tomas’ Chloe Ann Joy Miranda (3rd runner-up) and City of San Fernando’ Enna Amor Serrano (4th runner-up).

“I am so elated and happy. I will do my best to do my job as the Ambassador of Goodwill of Pampanga,” Alzul said during a post-pageant interview.

She said she is setting her sights to the Binibining Pilipinas crown.

Second district Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who awarded Alzul the “Mutya” trophy, said all of the 22 candidates are “pretty and talented.”

Provincial Information Officer Joel Mapiles said his is the first time, after about five years, that all towns and cities of the province were well represented in the pageant.

Governor Lilia Pineda, who crowned Alzul, said she is expecting the winner and the other titlists to actively participate and contribute in promoting the province. (Jovi T. De Leon)

Getting to this wine shop in Pampanga Angeles City Clark Freeport Zone Philippines from Manila

Getting to the Clark Wine Center wine shop from Manila is quite simple:  after entering Clark Freeport from Dau and Angeles City, proceed straight along the main highway M A Roxas. Clark Wine Center is the stand-along white building on the right, at the corner A Bonifacio Ave.  From the Clark International Airport DMIA, ask the taxi to drive towards the entrance of Clark going to Angeles City.  From Mimosa, just proceed towards the exit of Clark and this wine shop is on the opposite side of the main road M A Roxas.
