2 men electrocuted

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

ANGELES CITY — Two men died while two others were injured after being electrocuted while trimming trees crossing power lines at Sunset Valley Mansions (SVM) subdivision in Barangay Cutcut here on Monday.

Daniel Dulnuan, 43, and Lucas Mahiwo, 28, died instantly while their two other companions sustained serious injuries when electricity went back around 1:10 p.m. last Monday.

The workers were unmindful that power will be restored at 1 p.m. on said day because the electric firms, including the Angeles Electric Corporation (AEC), announced that the power interruption was from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., said to Ramon Dulnuan, Dulnuan’s brother.

The citywide power interruption was caused by maintenance work conducted by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Dulnuan’s kin asked the SVM homeowners association and the AEC for assistance for the burial expenses of the two victims who died and for the treatment of the two others who were injured. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
