About Cremant
A Crémant is a sparkling wine from France (or Luxembourg) made using the same method and grapes as with champagne. However, its not allowed to be called champagne since this wine is produced in another region. Quality wise there is no difference between Crémant and champagne. World wide blind tasting shows an increasing preference for Crémants.
The last decade the Crémant producing family organized itself and has grown substantially. Today there are no less than eight Crémant appellations.
In France:
• Crémant d’Alsace
• Crémant de Bordeaux
• Crémant de Bourgogne
• Crémant de Die
• Crémant du Jura
• Crémant de Limoux
• Crémant de Loire
In Europe:
Crémant du Luxembourg
