Bacolor barangay, youth officials take oath
December 2, 2010
BACOLOR — Mayor Jose Maria Hizon and third district Representative Aurelio Gonzales led Tuesday the mass oath taking of some 500 barangay and youth officials of this town.
Hizon said the oath taking ceremony held at the San Guillermo Parish Church here paves the way for the new government officials to start their work in their respective barangays.

Hizon said the Municipal Government has started opening the lines of communication with the newly elected officials in order to achieve common areas of cooperation.
“Since they are the primary link of the government to the grassroots, the job of barangay officials is a sensitive one. As such, the people must always remember that the efficacy of governance is enhanced or worsened depending on the performance of the barangay officials,” Hizon said, adding that the Municipal Government will always support the programs of barangay officials here.
Gonzales, for his part, urged the officials to come up with development programs for their respective barangays and to support initiatives set by the mayor in order to meet development goals.
He said the unity of both barangay kagawads and their village captain is of vital importance in keeping the barangay leadership united.
“Municipal development plans and projects would be easily achieved if local officials are in line with the objectives of the mayor. Here in Bacolor, such unity is essential to further achieve the full rehabilitation of this town that has been ravaged by lahar in the past,” Gonzales said.
