Capitol spends P600M for projects in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Officials of the Provincial Government said the Capitol released P600 million for the delivery of basic services for Kapampangans.
The amount also covers infrastructure and tourism projects for the province.
Acting Vice Governor Cris Garbo said in education alone, more than P100 million has been used for the construction and rehabilitation of school buildings in various towns in the province.
Provincial engineering chief Renato Gutierrez said with the support of Governor Lilia Pineda, they have completed the construction of two-classroom school building with comfort rooms worth P1,509,546.80 at the San Isidro Elementary School in Sta. Rita; three at San Jose Elementary School in Macabebe worth P2,490,500.86; three at San Mateo Elementary School in Arayat worth P2,332,204.92; and the repair and improvement of a seven-classroom school building at the Caduang Tete High School in Macabebe worth P1,018,764.18.
Garbo said after the onslaught of Typhoons Quiel and Pedring, the governor also approved the release of P80 million for priority development projects.
The budget has been given to the municipal chief executives to facilitate the reconstruction of damaged roads in their respective towns.
The acting governor said the Provincial Government has already started the upgrading and rehabilitation of district hospitals to fully serve the medical needs of the Kapampangans.
Earlier, Pineda inspected the newly constructed building of the Andres G. Luciano Memorial Hospital in Magalang town.
Among other hospital facilities constructed were the two-storey hospital building of San Luis District Hospital, improvement of Ricardo Rodriguez Memorial Hospital at the Bulaon Resettlement in San Fernando City, construction of Diosdado Macapagal Hospital’s Dialysis Center in Guagua, and improvement and renovation of Mabalacat District Hospital Phase 2.
Meanwhile, residents in Candaba town are hoping the governor will still push through with the original plan to construct another district hospital in their area.
Other completed infrastructure projects were the improvement of Mandili dike slope protection in Candaba worth P3,166,828.46; and Sta. Ana-San Luis provincial road slope protection in San Sebastian, San Luis worth P2,310,272.42.
The Provincial Government also completed the improvement and concreting of the provincial road in San Juan-San Jose-Natividad-Lambac-Pulong Masle road Lambac section in Guagua, San Matias-San Simon road San Matias section in Sto. Tomas and Del Rosario-Bacolor road in San Fernando City.
The Pampanga River Dike road Batasan-Candating section in Arayat worth P3,235,350; San Nicolas 1st barangay road in Sasmuan worth P1,213,448.57; Phase 11 of Guagua-Sta. Rita-Porac road San Matias and Becuran section worth P8,741,047.12; Phase IV Dila-dila section worth P8,504,335.85, both in Sta. Rita; and Phase V Dila-dila-Pulong Santol section in Sta. Rita-Porac worth P8,700,301.17 were also completed.
The widening of San Miguel-Sta. Cruz barangay road in San Simon worth P1,488,434.60 and re-blocking and asphalt overlay of Sto. Domingo-Lourdes-San Isidro-Telacsan-Colgante provincial road from Minalin to Apalit and Macabebe worth P7,454,000 were also done.
