Cops bust Braulio Gang members

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Police operatives on Saturday have arrested suspected members of the notorious Braulio Gang after staging a robbery at the Town and Country Homes in Barangay Pulung Bulu, Angeles City.

Police investigator John Rey Pineda identified the suspects as Roen De Guzman Mallari, 31, a resident of Rosal Street, Town and Country Homes Subdivision, Pulung Bulu; and Berly Pineda Garcia, alias Jover, 32, a resident of 4040 New Site, Saint Matthew, Barangay Sapa Libutad, also in Angeles City.
The two suspects, identified by the victim and witnesses and tagged by the police as members of the Braulio Gang led by one Ryan “Braulio” Chua, were arrested around 10 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Pabalan, Manibaug, Porac during a hot pursuit operation.

Pineda said that on the same day around 4 p.m., the suspects, alleged armed with .45 caliber pistols, entered the house of victim Melany Tobias Pangilinan at 4-26 Sunflower Street.

Once inside the suspects went straight to the second floor and shot the doorknob of the master’s bedroom and the adjacent room and carted away P70,000 in cash, a digital camera, a Daewoo 9mm pistol and a pay to cash check worth P300,000.

During their arrest, police found in the suspects’ possession a .38 cal revolver without serial number with six live bullets and two fragmentation grenades.

Cases of robbery with force and intimidation and illegal possession of firearms with ammunition and explosives have been filed against the suspects before the City Prosecutor’s Office confirmed by Inquest Prosecutor Jason Coloso.

The suspects are currently detained pending their commitment order. (By Jovi T. De Leon)
