Dole wants strong bond between Tarlac traders

April 13, 2011

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz has urged businessmen in Tarlac City to institutionalize best labor management practices among their group.
Baldoz encouraged big companies in Tarlac help companies in the province to harmonize industrial relationship by promoting and sharing their best labor-management practices through continuous labor and management education and social dialogues in order to manage differences in cultural values at the workplace.
“We want to ensure a strong labor-management relationship here in the province of Tarlac,” Baldoz said.
Baldoz was the guest of honor and speaker during the oath taking ceremonies of the newly elected officers of the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) of Tarlac.
“We want to see lesser interventions from the government in purely labor-management relation issues. Forums like this should build an avenue where good labor-management practices must be practiced in order to shorten the occurrence of labor disputes,” she said.
Baldoz also lauded the success of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (Dole) Single-Entry Approach (Sena) as one of its best practices in handling labor disputes.
This year alone, the Dole was able to prevent numerous labor-management dispute complaints it received from maturing into various labor cases.
Some of these cases were settled in less than a day, as opposed to the prescribed 30-day mandatory period in settling such cases.
The Dole will further strengthen its commitment to foster industrial peace in support to the Aquino Administration’s 22-point labor and employment agenda.
