Governor honors partners in health program

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Lilia Pineda honored provincial partners in the Philippine Health Promotion Program at Bren Z. Guaio Convention Center recently.

Pineda bestowed the Healthy Places Awards to various institutions, establishments and communities that have been consistent in implementing healthy standards in their day-to-day activities.

The award was given based on criteria set by the Provincial Health Office and the assessment of health personnel here.

“We are urging these awardees to continue the culture of healthy practices and help in the provincial government’s health and wellness programs,” Pineda said, adding that the health of the community and the people is the concern of all the sectors of the community.

The Healthy Eating Place award was given to Fortune Hongkong Restaurant, Bale Kapampangan and Apag Marangle, while the Healthy Workplace was awarded to San Miguel-Yamamura Packaging Corporation’s Closures and Lithography Plant and Tita’s Special.

The Healthy School Award was given to San Basilio Elementary School for the public schools category and Assumpta Technical School for the private category.

King’s Royal and Leisure Park Corporation bagged the Healthy Hotel Award with Barangay Balubad in Porac town hailed as this year’s Healthy Barangay for its implementation of health and awareness programs in the community.

Villa Alfredo’s Resort was hailed as this year’s Healthy Resort.

Government hospitals Romana Pangan District Hospital, Emigdio Cruz District Hospital and Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital were hailed as Healthy Hospitals in the public hospital category.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center was also hailed as this year’s awardee in the private sector category for the Healthy Hospitals Award. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
