Local water district bags award for the 3rd time
Thursday, December 9, 2010
THE Philippine Association of Water Districts Inc. (PAWD) has conferred the Top Water District Performer Award in the Large Category to the Mabalacat Water District (MWD) during the Third Seawun Convention held December 1 to 3 at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.
General Manager Francis Dimaliwat said the MWD, now a Hall of Famer, had been cited as the top-performing water district for the third consecutive year because of its exceptional and remarkable performance in the water district operation and management for the year 2008.
Chairman Deng Pangilinan acknowledged that the said award was achieved through the collective effort of the hardworking management, the supportive members of the board of directors, and the team of highly competitive individuals, who provide the best services to the consumers.
Dimaliwat said that MWD bested the City of San Fernando, Ilocos Norte, San Pedro and Tarlac City water districts and tied with Metro Lipa Water District for the much-coveted Top Water District Performer Award.
He added that during the evaluation by the Awards Committee, MWD’s project of the century — the Central Ground Reservoir — was not yet considered.
Pangilinan told MWD, “I commend each and everyone — the management, the board, and staff — for exceptionally doing your respective tasks.”
He reminded them as well that the award doesn’t mean the water district can now rest easy. “I encourage everyone to do better and give their very best in serving the concessionaires,” said Pangilinan. (Press Release)
