Pampanga partners with private outfit for training on backhoe loader operation

The Provincial Manpower Training Center (PMTC), in partnership with a private outfit, recently started a15-day pilot training on backhoe loader operation in Lubao town in line with the provincial government’s desire to provide employment and livelihood opportunities to its constituents.

PMTC Officer-in-Charge Francis Maslog said that 25 qualified individuals from barangays San Antonio and San Francisco in the municipality of Lubao benefit from the free undertaking, the first-ever training on heavy equipment operation conducted in Pampanga.

The Holy Cross Training and Assessment Center, a Manila-based private training outfit, has generously shared the use of its back hoe, needed fuel including the training venue as part of its corporate social responsibility commitment, Maslog said.

He added that after the training, the management of Holy Cross would also assist the trainees in gaining employment in both local and foreign companies.

“We continuously look for various innovative ways to provide target needy sectors with employable skills and trainings as it is one of the priority thrusts of Governor Lilia G. Pineda’s administration,” Maslog explained.

The PMTC also plans to conduct trainings on machinist operation and motorcycle engine mechanic soon.

“We have likewise lined-up the conduct of training on carpentry for the production of needed school desks for the Department of Education.

This would again be in partnership with the Chamber of Furniture Industry of the Philippines-Pampanga chapter (CFIPP) as in the furniture upholstery training we conducted recently.”

More so, plans for the wellness hilot massage training for Aetas are underway to further boost the development of upland barangay Nabuclod, Floridablanca as an ideal eco-tourism destination.

This would be in close coordination with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and Public Employment Services Office (PESO).

Maslog said that aside from the in-house trainings conducted at the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) Compound and Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex in the City of San Fernando, the PMTC also holds community-based trainings.

He reported that trainings on electrical installation and maintenance in Guagua, barangay Pulung Gubat in Candaba and Mexico towns including welding in Apalit have been conducted by the PMTC.

The governor is very much supportive to the implementation of various skills training programs to qualified out-of-school youths, unemployed adults and other interested individuals in the province, Maslog concluded.
