Retired military chief is new Clark corporation chair

CLARK FREEPORT – The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced Monday the appointment of retired Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines General Eduardo Oban Jr. as chairman of the Board of Directors and officer-in-charge of the state-run firm.
CDC Executive Vice President Philip JB Panlilio made the announcement during Monday’s flag raising ceremonies.
Oban will assume CDC’s top executive post after Felipe Antonio Remollo’s resignation that took effect on March 30, 2012.
The former AFP chief of staff is a member of Philippine Military Academy Matatag Class 1979. He was born in Castilla, Sorsogon, and is married to Maria Concepcion Paderon.
Prior to the appointment as the Chief of Staff, Oban served as the Vice Commander of the Philippine Air Force (PAF).
He also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans in the AFP and as Deputy Chief of Staff for the administration and supervision of the joint coordinating, technical and special staffs of the military headquarters.
He is a recipient of four Distinguished Service Stars, a number of Military Merit Medals, a Golden Aviator Award, two Group Commander of the Year Awards, a PAF Group Commander of the Year Award and Military Commendation Medals.
He finished a master’s degree in business economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific in 2005 while he was the director for operations of the 5th Fighter Wing.
