PORAC — School officials and several parents of pre-elementary pupils of the Villa Maria Integrated School in this town lauded representatives from the Holy Cross College for conducting a “gift giving project”.
Rosita Medina, school principal, expressed gratitude to the Batch ’97-Four one class (4-1) of the HCC for choosing their school as the benefactor of their generosity.
“Masayang-masaya po kami dahil nakikita namin sa inyo ang tunay na pagmamalasakit sa ating mga estudyanteng katutubo at talagang malaking bagay ang inyong ipinamahaging tulong at regalo,” she said.
Medina said they usually invite non-government organizations (NGOs) during the Christmas season to sponsor an activity that will benefit Aeta students.
Gina Sibal, 35, mother of one of the student-beneficiaries, lamented that because of poverty, she cannot afford to buy gifts and other needs of their children this Christmas.
She said this gift-giving activity has brought the spirit of Christmas closer to their hearts.
The HCC 4-1 class distributed gift packs, groceries, school supplies, foods and cash gifts to all Aeta students in the pre-elementary department. This, they said, came from the contributions of all concerned HCC students here and abroad. (Herbert Mapiles/Sunnex)
