Sun.Star partners with video firm for Sinulog live streaming

CEBU CITY — The Sun.Star Publishing Inc. has forged a partnership with a Cebu-based professional photo and video provider to better cover the Sinulog festivities this year.
The partnership with Needs & Solutions Inc. will run until February 15, 2012, or at the end of Sun.Star website’s Sinulog coverage at www.sunstar.com.ph.
Sun.Star and Needs & Solutions were represented by their presidents, Julius G. Neri and Joey Enario, respectively, during the signing of a memorandum of agreement. The parties agreed that Needs & Solutions shall make available video feed and reports for the Sinulog live streaming and video coverage for the Sun.Star website. The coverage aims to bring the Sinulog 2012 experience closer to Filipinos here and in other parts of the country and the world. This will be the fourth year that the Sun.Star website will carry live streaming of the Sinulog festivities.
Sun.Star, for its part, shall provide online exposure for selected video reports of Needs & Solutions on its Sinulog 2012 section at blogs.sunstar.com.ph/sinulog/2012.
The live streaming of the festival this year is also made possible with Sun.Star’s partnership with the Sinulog Foundation Inc., the official entity managing and overseeing the Sinulog, and Smart Communications Inc.
The Foundation gives Sun.Star access to the Sinulog 2012 activities, as well as information on the festival preparations, while Smart Communications provides the Internet connection needed for the live coverage, which will start on January 7-8 with the Sinulog sa Kabataan.
Sun.Star will also stream live videos of other festival highlights such as the Festival Queen on January 13, solemn procession on January 14, grand parade on January 15, and the awarding ceremonies on January 16.
Website visitors can catch the Sinulog 2012 grand parade on January 15 from the street, at Fuente Osmena circle and at the Cebu City Sports Center where the grand finale and fireworks display will be held.
Live videos of these major activities will be shown on the Sun.Star website at www.sunstar.com.ph and at the Sinulog special at blogs.sunstar.com.ph/sinulog/2012, which also features schedules of festival and religious activities, route maps, contests guidelines, contingent profiles and even directories. The blog can also be accessed through mobile devices.
